The owner needed visual communication with a strong message to their new customers to open a new beauty salon.
The objective of this project was to create a visual communication of the new salon's strengths: high-quality hair cutting techniques and customer service that sincerely responds to customer requests.

Creation of the New Logomark

Representing precise and advanced hair cutting techniques

The owner has nearly 20 years of experience in top beauty salons in Japan and Germany. His knowledge and skills in hair cutting, coloring, and styling are unique of the highest quality. The quality of his haircuts is expressed in the logo, which is a geometric and precise hairdresser's scissors motif.
The logo directly communicates to customers the quality and service of this hair salon, which is timeless and authentic.

Creation of the New Logotype

To be legible and to be familiar to people of all genders

Many of his customers are women, and he needed a visual that appeal to women. We chose Avenir as the typeface to match the geometric, precise impression of the logo while at the same time giving a feminine, soft, and gentle impression because of its round shape. I created the logotype based on this typeface, which is timeless, modern, clear, and highly legible.
In addition, the text is written in lower case to enhance the soft and feminine image.

Definition of Typography

A typeface that is easy to read and conveys information accurately

With the opening of a new beauty salon, it was essential to convey the store's address, phone number, and other information and messages legibly and clearly in communications such as business cards and store cards.

Avenir's typeface, also used for the logotype, is the right solution for the salon's brand because it is straightforward to read and generates a gentle impression. It is also a modern typeface that will never get old and embodies a beauty salon's unchanging high-quality service.

Definition of Color Palette

Green as a brand color for a calm and relaxing haircut

During the hearing session with the owner, we decided to choose green as the brand color. The salon's clientele is not very young and trendy, but rather adults who understand the quality of things, so we needed a brand color that would appeal to them.
The color palette was created with green as the base color, as it matches well with the direction of the salon, where customers can receive haircuts in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

At the same time, this green color represents the Alpine mountains and nature near Munich, Bavaria, Germany, where the salon is located.

Creation of the Communication Materials

Consistent visual identity and intuitive brand recognition

I created business cards and store cards for mocci, using the defined logo, logotype, typography, and brand colors.
Since this is a newly opened salon, the logo was laid out predominantly and noticeably with enough white space so that people would remember and recognize the name and logo. The front side has a white background so that the customer can read the text information clearly and precisely. The backside has a green background, designed so that the salon's brand color, green, will remain strong in customers' minds.
